Learning Tarot: A Three Card Spread for Daily Focus

Panic stations!

The other day woke up feeling pretty scattered. I had so many thoughts swirling around in my mind, almost at panic level…I just felt like I had so much to do, but I wasn’t even sure what that was exactly or where to start.

Waking up in a Tower kind of frame of mind!

Waking up in a Tower kind of frame of mind!

I’m not going to lie to you, my first instinct was to run around in circles, then hide under the covers, then cry, then head for the airport.

Find your focus!

Find your focus!

After that outburst, I realized that this was not a productive or effective way to start my day!

Then I had a realization…

Here it is. I am like a yoga instructor who never has time to do yoga themselves. I am like a nutritionist who has to grab lunch from a fast food joint. I am a Tarot reader who doesn’t have the time to consult the cards for herself when she needs some guidance! And that’s no way to be.

Keep Calm and Consult the Cards

So, I decided to slow down, take a moment, and ask my trusted advisors, my Tarot cards, for help.

A Three Card Spread for Daily Focus

Here is a quick daily spread you can use when you are feeling scattered, overloaded, not sure what it would be best to focus on. Just lay out the cards is a row, from left to right…notice how the cards face each other, interact with each other, contrast with each other.

Card #1: What to focus on today
Card #2: What to put on hold today
Card #3: Outcome if you follow this advice

I did this reading for myself, please watch this video to see what I learned! I have to say, it was just what I needed to hear.

The next time you feel like you need some focus and direction, but just can’t settle down or don’t have the time to do an in-depth, elaborate spread, give this concise little gem of a three card spread a try. In my experience, it will help to put things in perspective, clear your mind, and recognize the highest priority or where to start.
