Get to Know Your Tarot Year Card with this Spread

December 12, 2025

Do you know what your Tarot year card is for 2026?

If not, here’s how you can figure it out.

There is math involved, but don’t let that deter you. It’s worth the effort.

Although your fate isn’t set in stone, your Year Card offers valuable insights into the atmosphere of your year ahead, empowering you to capitalize on opportunities and navigate challenges, like the bright star you are.

Once you’ve calculated your Year card, note your first reaction to it.

Did you smile? Laugh? Grimace? Feel curious, puzzled, or neutral? Feel that, and make note of it before you get into any analysis or consult your favorite Tarot book.

Then, ask yourself:

  • Do you have a history with this card? Has it come up for other situations? What do you associate it with (if anything)?
  • Do any symbols, figures, animals, plants, or elements of the imagery catch your eye? Why might that be?
  • What traditional meanings or keywords do you associate with this card?
  • How does this card relate to YOU – where you are now, and where you are heading in the New Year?

Regardless of how you feel about it, this card will be your companion for the year ahead. It may be a dear friend or a dreaded nemesis. It may be gentle and nurturing, or challenging and provocative. It’s all good – rest assured, it will share valuable lessons if you embrace it or face it.

After you’ve had a chance to gauge your reaction, go deeper with this Tarot spread.

As you read each card, relate it back to your Year card; is it in alignment with that energy, or is it in contrast? Pay close attention if your actual Year card appears in the spread! Also, bring each card back to YOU – how does it make sense for YOU personally, and what’s going on in your life and your heart.
