The winter solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year. We go into the darkness, and then we welcome the return of the sun with joy and optimism for the future.
Although this is a merry time, often spent in celebration with family and friends, it is also a time of reflection. Leading up to the Solstice, the days are short, the air is cold, we feel a strong pull towards hibernation and communion with the world of dreams and compelling darkness. Before we greet the return of the light, we must also make our peace with the dark.
Acknowledge and embrace the light and the dark in yourself.
Welcome the return of the Sun, of the Light, of Warmth and Rebirth with appreciation for this beautiful world that sustains us. Marvel at her cycles and shifts, know that we are all a part of the ever-renewing energy of the universe. Let divine inspiration strike and fill your soul with possibility.
As we approach this Solstice, we have the opportunity to rest, replenish and go within, so that we can emerge with wisdom, inspiration and intentions set.
Here is a Tarot spread that can give you the space or the container to do this.
Solstice Blessings to you!
