2025 is rocketing to a close. This year has felt heavy for so many of us, and yet the past few months have flown by, as if we’re all eager to rush into a New Year. The world is ready for a shift in energy, from introspection to action, and contemplation to positive change. Are you feeling it?
We read Tarot for ourselves, and we each have our own Tarot Year cards, but did you know that our world has its own Major Arcana card that changes from year to year, too?
This Universal Year card provides insight into the atmosphere of the year ahead: challenges, opportunities, resources, and external forces that impact us collectively as a planet. The Universal Year card illustrates the energy we’re all swimming in, navigating, and making the most of. Knowing what you’re working with and how it will impact you personally, as well as the planetary community you’re a part of, is powerful.
2025 was a Hermit year, according to the Tarot.
2+0+2+5=9. Nine corresponds with the Hermit card.
If you’re an introvert and an empath like me, the Hermit feels like home. The Hermit loves to curl up in his cave and contemplate life – how we got to where we are now as a planet, where we may be heading, and how we can wisely choose the most beneficial path forward. I spent much of the year reflecting, recalibrating, and formulating future plans.
The Hermit invites you to use the time between now and the end of the year to check in with yourself and get to know your mind well. Evaluate everything you see in the news and on social media, and less-than-reputable sources influence your views. Self-knowledge is a superpower and will keep you grounded in the new year.
Speaking of which, we will experience a significant energy shift as we roll into 2026, because we’re heading into a Wheel of Fortune year. Say farewell to the calm solitude of the Hermit – destiny calls!
2026 is a Wheel of Fortune year, according to the Tarot.
2+0+2+6=10. Ten corresponds with the Wheel of Fortune card.
The Wheel brings change, movement, and unexpected opportunities. The Wheel spins, and we have to hang on and go where it takes us. Armed with the wisdom we gained in the Hermit year, we should be ready to seize opportunities and to surrender control when necessary.
Although the ups and downs of the wild Wheel can feel destabilizing, it offers luck and tantalizing glimpses of mysteries. Trust that, in time, you’ll find your footing and understand the bigger picture.
Say goodbye to stagnation and status quo – listen to your gut and shake things up! Those who think they are on top of the world are about to suffer a great fall, and those who have been kept down are ready to rise.
In a Wheel year:
- Recognize patterns that need to end
- Make use of lessons learned in the previous year
- Stay flexible and go with the flow
- Trust in your luck
- Remember nothing is permanent, and find joy in the present moment
- Take a chance when your GUT tells you to
- Watch for signs and synchronicities
- Hang onto your hat and enjoy the ride!
As you embark on a Wheel year, ask yourself:
- What is in my control right now? What isn’t?
- Do I feel lucky?
- Where am I eager for change in my life? How can I start that ball rolling?
- Do I believe in fate and destiny?
May your Wheel Year be filled with delightful surprises and miraculous luck!
