June 5th is my birthday.
I love birthdays and celebrations of all kinds. I think it is important to make note of special occasions, to mark them in some way, otherwise time just seems to slip away, days blend together.
This year, I have mixed feelings about my own birthday.
First of all, I want to celebrate it. I want to thank the universe and my loved ones for all the beauty and joy they bring into my life. I am wildly grateful for my life.
And on the other side, I feel anxious. I am feeling how fast time passes. There is so much I want to do, to achieve, there never seems to be enough time. I seem to have forgotten how to truly relax.
This could have something to do with the fact that this is a Hierophant year for me. I’m feeling the weight of that formidable and solemn figure.
Maybe, this year, I’m not supposed to relax .
As I’ve said before, I usually calculate my Year Card starting from January 1st, but I find that the influence of the card gets most intense around your birthday.
That Hierophant is inviting me to step into my power. To know my expertise. To share my own authentic wisdom and experience with those who want and need it. To truly establish my place in my professional field.
I have trouble with the Hierophant, so now is the time for me to make friends with him, and to understand how I can see myself in him.

And on my birthday, I’m going to celebrate, Hierophant style.
I worked out somewhere that the Hierophant is also my year card for this year. I wasn’t too thrilled when I first found out because of all I went through under organised religion, but I’m playing with all the meanings of the card this year and believe it’s a year for learning my craft and for also starting to give out to others what I’ve learned. I’ve set up the Hierophant card and the High Priestess card together on a surface in my bedroom as the energies for the year. I nearly took it down the other day, but felt Spirit stay it should stay up for the year. I feel like I need to balance my intuition with my learning; that’s why I put them up together. Like the High Priestess will soften the Hierophant for me – it’s hard to explain.
I love that. I am also getting to know that Hierophant, and I am much more comfortable in the realm of the High Priestess.Wishing you a year of discoveries and solid knowledge ahead.
